Right here in Walthamstow, bank holidays = Wildcard Beer Festivals and this weekend is no different. This time, there's a focus on Northern breweries with Bad Seed, Northern Monk, Black Jack and Alchemy (many more to be announced) featuring. There's also DJ sets (Fri - Sun) and an acoustic set from The Stowicks on Monday. Here's the full music line-up. In addition to their normal Friday/Saturday hours, Pillars will also be open on Sunday (14.00 - 23.30) & Monday (12.00 - 18.00). There's street food available throughout via Walthsamtow Dogs (Friday & Sunday), Sticky Beaks (Saturday) & Linette's Kitchen (Monday). Beer wise, it's the launch of their V2 Pillars Pilsner. We were lucky enough to get a sample straight out the tank earlier this week and it was tasting banging!
Elsewhere, Redchurch will be closed on Saturday for a private function, but they'll be open on Thursday, Friday & Sunday as normal.
South London & Bermondsey
Down in Peckham, Brick Brewery are also getting their beer fest on. The impressive line-up includes BBNo, Anspach & Hobday, Weird Beard, Villages, Affinity, Elusive, Bullfinch and London Beer Lab. They'll be open Friday (17.00 - 22.00) and Saturday (12.00 - 22.00) with street food available via Slow Richies.
In case you missed it last weekend - Orbit Beers have re-opened their taproom for summer. Open on Saturday's (12.00 - 20.00), there's a varying line-up of their beers along with specials.
Bermondsey wise, The Bottle Shop's latest tap takeover features the best of British! The frankly incredible tap-list includes the Mango version of Thornbridge's Halcyon IPA and Magic Rock's Demonali IPA. You can view all the beers that will be on tap here.
At BBNo, expect to find the latest iteration of their Session IPA, using Citra & HBC 431(for our money, they're making the best Session IPA's in London) and a new Farmhouse Table Saison. Here's the tap-list in full.
Head over to the excellent Affinity Brew Co on Saturday (12.00 - 17.00) where you can try 'Spritz' for the very first time. It's a 5.4% sour number brewed with hibiscus flowers.
It's the last weekend of the month, which means that Hammerton will be opening their brewery tap. Alongside the core range, you'll be able to try their new Session IPA, Geist Weiss and N7.7 (DIPA version of N7) on Friday (17.00 - 23.30) and Saturday (14.00 - 23.30).
Over at Beavertown, the latest release from the 'Beavertown Says' series will be on the taps. 'Psychotropic' is a New England Style Table Beer that by all accounts, looks like an absolute juice bomb. Beavertown have put together a nice content piece on the making of the beer, which you can view right here. There's also the chance to try their Oatmeal Pale Ale (also from the same series) - here's the full beer line-up for Saturday (14.00 - 20.00).
